How the fees work (2026)
Every marketplace takes a cut, and the headline percentage rarely tells the whole story. Here is what each platform charges on a typical sale, all built into the calculator above.
Etsy fees
- Listing fee: $0.20 per item (renews every 4 months).
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of item price + shipping you charge.
- Payment processing: 3% + $0.25 (US; varies by country).
eBay fees
- Final value fee: ~13.6% without a store, 12.7% with a Basic store+ (varies by category).
- Per-order fee: $0.30 for orders $10 or less, $0.40 above. Payment processing is bundled in.
Amazon fees
- Referral fee: 8–15% depending on category (default 15%), $0.30 minimum.
- FBA fulfillment fee: per-unit, based on size and weight — enter yours in the calculator.
Shopify fees
- Payment processing: 2.9% + $0.30 online (Basic plan, Shopify Payments).
- Monthly subscription is a fixed cost, not a per-sale fee.
